Depending on how you use RouteRescue, this may include your name, phone number, email address, vehicle details, roadside location (including What3Words or browser coordinates), request details, technician application information and payment-related reference information. Card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored in this website code.
We use information to respond to roadside requests, match drivers with suitable technicians, review technician applications, process and confirm payments, prevent misuse, maintain records and communicate about a request or application.
Request information may be shared with an approved technician where necessary to provide roadside assistance. We also use service providers that help operate RouteRescue, including Stripe for payments, Google/Firebase for sign-in and Google services used by the current request-management workflow.
Depending on the activity, RouteRescue may process information because it is necessary to take steps at your request or perform a service, because there is a legitimate interest in operating and securing the platform, or because you have given consent where consent is required.
Information should be kept only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including operational, accounting, dispute and legal requirements. RouteRescue should maintain and periodically review a documented retention schedule.
Under UK data protection law you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, depending on the circumstances. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

If you choose “Use my current location”, your browser asks permission before coordinates are collected. Location is used for the roadside request and should be shared only with people or providers who need it to handle that request.
This notice may be updated as RouteRescue’s systems and providers change. Material changes should be reflected here before new uses of personal information begin.
